Abstracts

The Scientific Committee of the 18th International Symposium on Modern Concepts in Infective Endocarditis and Cardiovascular Infections invites you to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations.

We welcome original research, clinical cases studies related to the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, prevention of infective endocarditis and cardiovascular infections.

No free registration is granted upon the acceptance of an abstract, whether as a poster or an oral presentation.

Guidelines

  • Maximum 400 words, covering the title, section headings (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Conclusion), and the abstract text.
  • Only abstracts within the scope of the symposium and related to the TOPICS listed for abstracts submission will be considered.
  • Abstracts submitted to be considered need to be original works, which means that the content of the abstract cannot be published before.
  • List the corresponding author (=first author) first in the author list.
  • Author names must include: First name in lowercase and Last name in uppercase, list affiliations including the name of the institution, city, and country.
  • The presenting author must be registered for the conference (this should be the first or last author, or the corresponding author)
  • A maximum of 10 authors is allowed. All authors have consented to be included as co-authors, have read and approved the abstract and its contents, and agree with the results stated.
  • Working Group's corporate name can be included.
  • Abstracts must be written in English.
  • The abstract must be structured as follows:
    • Introduction
    • Materials and Methods
    • Results (including statistical significance)
    • Conclusion
  • Tables and figures are not allowed.
  • Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammar or scientific mistakes, because in case of being accepted the text would be reproduce exactly as submitted. Linguistic accuracy is your responsibility.
  • Accepted files formats : .docx or .pdf
  • If you have successfully submitted your abstract, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email.
  • if the abstract is accepted as a poster, there will be a mandatory three-minute presentation alongside the poster.
  • The submitter of the abstract will be informed by email of the decision of the Regional Organizing Committee and will be notified of the selected mode of presentation (poster or oral presentation). Accepted contributions will also be published in the online publication that will be hosted in the Symposium website.

Oral Presentation:

If the submitted abstract is approved the author agrees to present their work orally during one of the program sessions.

Poster:

If the submitted abstract is approved, the author agrees to create a poster presenting the content and to bring it on the day of the event.

Presentation of an oral communication or a poster requires mandatory registration of one of the author for the congress.

Submission process

  • Please, for your first submission, please access the online submission form and fill it out.
  • Carefully complete the details requested in every page during the submission process. (the author is responsible for submitting the abstract and keeping all co-authors informed of the submission and the conference's decision.)
  • If you have successfully submitted your abstract, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email. If no confirmation is received, the abstract cannot be considered as successfully submitted. If you leave, the system without finishing the process all data will be lost. Please contact the scientific secretariat if you have not receive the acknowledgement of receipt by email after the submission.
